Are you wondering if your 356 has its original engine? Are you unsure what year it was made? You can find out more about your 356 by obtaining a Certificate of Authenticity (Kardex) from Porsche -- or you can get some of the information right here, right now. Simply enter your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number -- also called chassis number), or your engine serial number into one of the search boxes below.

- year of production
- model year
- model type
- body style
- coachbuilder
- possible engine types and serial number ranges
Engine Number
Enter engine number into the box below and you will be provided with:
- year of production
- Porsche internal designation

Note: Some T6 engines had 7 digit serial numbers that began with a "0". In order to make these database queries work, you must add a "5" in front of those numbers only, and ignore the "5" in the results. THIS ONLY APPLIES TO 7 DIGIT NUMBERS BEGINNING WITH "0" (ZERO).
