1959 Cabriolet

Here are some pictures of my 1959 356A cab. It is # 151723 and was Reutter bodied. It has the original 59 engine and is a numbers matching car. I purchased it in December 1999 from a fireman on Oahu in Hawaii. It had sat for 17 years in Kahaluu Valley. The restoration was mostly completed by January 2001. It currently is painted it's original color Ruby Red #5702. It had a black interior when I got it and no mention of interior color was on the Kardex, so I kept with the black. It has German square weave carpets in charcoal. It came with a removable hardtop and I have installed a soft top in 2002. Presently I am running a 912 motor with a full flow oil filter. It has early Solex 40's with a Web 290 duration cam, lightened flywheel with 200MM clutch, and a Big Bore KIt. I sounds terrific with the Bursch exhaust. I just had the original seats done in leather by Auto's International. Currently I'm putting together the original motor and looking for US spec bumpers. The car can be seen at most club events for the Hawaii 356 Owners Group. Any one interested in joining our club can contact me at (808) 262-5417.
