1955 Continental Cabriolet 1500 Super, #60874, one of only 69
Continental Cabriolets ever produced, and one of the very few that
was equipped with the 1500 Super engine (the car still has the
original engine). The Kardex actually reads: "Typ: Continental".
It was delivered to Hoffman in New York on 8th of July 1955.
I bought it in 2003 from Ottokar Jacobs, the famous historic
Porsche race car collector, who during many years had used it in
Florida as a daily driver. It had a huge amount of rust when I
bought it from Otto, so I had it restored to its original glory
using only original parts during almost three years in the US and
Switzerland.
It has all the original goodies like the Telefunken radio, sun
visors, turbo rings, bumper guards, hood handle, Aero rear view
mirror, Bosch headlights, Hella shine down light, SWF glass
reflectors, etc and even one of the earliest original unmarked
Nardi steering wheels which is set up for a late pre A car that
does not yet have the indicator cancel ring.
