This is a 59 Carrera GS. An all matching numbers car with 27,000 miles. Optioned at the factory with GT tank and GT brakes. Also plexi-glass window corners and day/night mirror. It also has a working gas heater in the engine bay.
This car spent most of it's life in Spokane, WA., but was purchased in 1981 by my dentist of Gig Harbor, WA. The dentist also had two 59 GT Speedsters and so he sold this car in 1984. The car went to a gentleman in Salt Lake City, but as the car was being driven from Washington to Salt Lake, an intake valve stuck and a carburetor fire ensued. In Salt Lake the car changed hands again and went to Rusty Ferrell, known by his handle as "CDEUCE" on the 356 Registry talk line. I purchased the car from Rusty in 1986. The car was stored for many years on a small island on Puget Sound until the restoration began. Billy Doyle did a beautiful job on the motor and it is now driven often.
