When I quit riding motorcycles at 40, I bought my old college dream. I drove a 58 Ghia convertible and always wanted one of the Porsches that used to blow by me, but in school I couldn't come close to affording one. This car is a 62 Super 90 coupe, Ruby Red. Got it for $5500 in 1986 and have loved it since. Has matching numbers, and runs like a top. Great old man's reinvigorator. Two things I wish: It wasn't so dang hard to get in and out of, and parts didn't cost so much. Hence the license plate.
The front horn opening material is generic chromed auto grill material you can buy by the sheet off eBay. I cut patterns larger than the grill holes and bent them to fit. Anchored with a 1/2" machine screw and nut, then painted over. The car has no doubt had work on the front over the years because the mounting bracket for one of the horn grills is non-existent. Hence the new look. After I saw the NLA catalog with the look, I liked it.
Nothing else custom except the wrong color fan shroud, an electric tach that should be in a Super, and the "bastardized" dash. Very unstock but I like it.
