White/tan 1964 356C Cabriolet
by Karl, Karin & Tristan Schoen
This is our baby. My
parents became the second owners in 1965 with only a little more
then a thousand miles on the odometer. It started out a baby
blue and has gone through silver and then white which it has
been for the last twenty-five odd years. (click image for full-size

It was vintage
raced from around 1977 to 1990. When our local track,
Westwood, was shut down to make room for houses not too long
ago, my dad decided to return the car to original. It was repainted
(white) at Mercedes-Benz north Vancouver around 92-93 and the
leather/vinyl was redone shortly after that.
My dad and I
drove the car down to Monterey in the summer of 1998 to celebrate
Porsche's 50th anniversary. With only one rebuild in its long
life, the engine held up beautifully (except for a snapped fan
belt and carburetor malfunction on the way back).
Thanks to all
that stoped and helped us: A cream roadster from Wyoming,
navy blue pre-A cab from Colorado (I think), a red 911 turbo
from Montana, and "Schatzy" from Washington.
Long live the
356 and the people that care for and love them.
