| I
bought this car, my first 356, from fellow registry member
Robert Raucher in 1998. I had been looking for a 356 for about a
year, when this car appeared on the 356Talk list. I love the
look of the early cars, and the chance to own a Continental was
too good to pass up. A few weeks later, I was the proud new
owner of a 1955 Continental Coupe, #54189 (less than 40 cars
from the end of the Pre-A series).
The car is in decent unrestored (almost)
condition. The car has been a California car all its life, and
has spent 10-15 years of that life hidden in garages. It's rock
solid, but with an old repaint. The car is currently
beige/black, but was originally Adria Blue metallic, the same
color combination as Brett Johnson's 1955 Sunroof Coupe (#54205
- only 16 cars down the production line from mine). The car has
still has its original Continental badges.
The car is currently in Louisville, KY,
where I've been on a temporary work assignment for the last 2
years, and will be returning to Long Beach, CA in November 2002.
The attached photos are from a beautiful Southern California day
in the summer of 1999, in and around Palos Verdes/San Pedro, CA.
Thanks for looking!
