I just bought this 1963 T6 very original solid driver in
Atlanta. Originally it was a Texas car and has been in Atlanta
since 1991. It came with the records back to 1978 and has never
had any major restoration, just updated and serviced as needed.
The car was delivered with only a Bendix radio, which I have,
and a blue tip antenna as dealer options. It was
recently re-painted it's original Signal Red and has new Pirelli
Cinturato P3000 tires. It is still 6 volts. The car is badged as
a 60, but the engine is a type 616/15 from 1964 which would make
it 75hp. Records indicate this engine was rebuilt in the early
'90's, but no indication when it may have replaced the original.
Is it possible this late production '63 was fitted with a '64
engine?I have wanted a 356 since 1972 and during that period,
had several near misses in purchasing one. My dream car was a
Super 90 sunroof coupe, but alas, those cars have appreciated
out of my price range. I look forward to many years enjoying
this car as Dr. Porsche would have intended.
