1962 Sunroof Coupe

Here are some pictures of my recently acquired 1962 S90 Sunroof Coupe (#118497). I've wanted a 356 since I was 9 or 10 years old, which is about when this car was built. It's a numbers matching car with the original 616/7 engine (#804455) and transmission (#52053). It was built in late 1961 and was a factory custom order with an electric sunroof and S90 engine. It still carries the original color scheme.... Signal Red (#6211) with black interior. I'm the 4th owner. The car was originally a California car, until the 2nd owner moved to Augusta, GA in the late '70s, where it remained until the 3rd owner puchased it in 1997and moved it back to SoCal.

It's not a #1 car, it's a driver, but it's better than a "20-footer". The body has nice gaps. The hood has has never been bent, but the doors need a bit of sorting as there are a couple of small rust bubbles at the bottom of both. The paint is about 10-years old. The interior was redone a few years ago and is in excellent shape. It still has the original back seat vinyl and original door panels, but the front seats were re-covered in Connolly leather, and there is new square weave carpeting throughout.

It's solid, tight and runs strong! I may have it stripped down to bare metal, repainted and have the window frames re-chromed in the next year or two, but for now I am just enjoying driving it!
