Purchased my Notchback in 1988. It is now
Guards Red and is powered by a NOS
engine case with counterbalanced crank, new Porsche rods, big
bore kit with
Webers. My uncle James helped me rewire the car using a YNZ
harness and the
wooden steering wheel he won with a one dollar raffle ticket. He
gave me the wheel
for my car. The engine was built by Rhett Mathisen and Bill
Smothers
installed the carpets. The car was made ready for the East Coast
Holiday in
Charleston, SC in about four days with the help of Smothers,
Mathisen and two friends
who flew in from Germany for the event, Rolf Krogmeyer and Heinz
Will. The
Carrera valance was provided by Rolf who had them made. They are
available through
me with two styles, single and dual exhaust openings. With the
help of these
four friends I am now riding with a smile.
